Charles Darwin Primary’s newest pupils had a fantastic first taste of school as they shared a fun picnic lunch with their new friends.
The Reception children enjoyed a tasty and healthy classroom picnic on the first day at their new school.
They will spend the first half term getting to know their teachers and classmates and getting used to the school routines before making a start on learning phonics.
This term’s reading will focus on fairy tales and nursery rhymes, with children invited to bring in their favourite book from home to share.
Class teacher Mrs Bessent said: “We are loving getting to know the children and helping them settle into their school life.
“They are doing brilliantly and we are so proud of them already.”
